Gavain is the cat amongst the pigeons. He is the trickster, ever-anarchic and self-contradicting. But, he is also growth. Wherever Gavain walks, greenery springs up in his wake. His merriment is watching others struggle against the inexorable will of nature to grow and reclaim.

After Oga, he is the seventh Archon, yet none among them know his origin. Gavain simply appeared in the Otherworld one day; the asteroid bearing his name careened into the Azabel System soon afterwards. Most people, whether in the Azabel System or Otherworld, believe Gavain to be an “Outer God”, a being from some other dimension. Others contend he is an “Ascended Spirit”, an ancestor who has escaped death in the Otherworld, thereby avoiding ever returning to material life.
