The Royal House of Ilverõ has held sway over the Gualloir Ilverã since the Second Battle of Orlõ in 1169 (Kijreki Years). Despite several intradynastic struggles, the House continues to rule today. However, it faces several threats in the modern day. Since the current King, Ilverõ VII, has no living heirs, there are several candidates for succession. The arguments of reformers for a turn towards constitutional monarchy are strengthened by this uncertainty. Matters are further complicated by the emergence of particularly radical factions within the population. These include the extreme nationalist youth movement Sana Ẽgoir, and the newly-organised strong farmers led by Ógó.
